Technologies are gradually identifying in all aspects of our existence. Modern society does not represent his life without a continuous flow of information, high speed of interaction and automation of many routine processes. Changes in the life of people are reflected not only externally, but also penetrate deeply into consciousness. Creative individuals are no exception.
Increasingly, artistic works are associated with certain technologies or are created based on them. However, in addition, innovation is transformed by the world of art, its mechanisms and features. Special applications, platforms and services designed exclusively for this sphere are being developed.
The co-founder of the digital laboratory Snark.art Andrei Alekhin told BitCryptonews about the benefits of using the blockchain in the field of art, the prospects for its introduction, oh there, what the influence of technology is on creativity in general.
What are the prospects for using the blockchain in the field of art? Will he continue to be implemented everywhere or the current trend is associated with the «fashion» on this technology?
This technology is only looking for its use in art and still early to assert something definitely. But with a large probability, it will give a powerful impetus to the development of the digital art market: the blockchain allows you to distinguish original digital work from their copies, even if it is two identical files, thereby equalizing the investment attractiveness of digital and physical work.
The blockchain can affect not only the art market, but also on the art itself — technology provides artists with unique opportunities for interactive interaction with community, turning collectors from passive custodians of work in its active participants and, perhaps even co-authors. This can lead to the emergence of works of a fundamentally new type — work, the active life and the formation of which begins only after their sale of the group of owners.
The accuracy and confirmation of property are the basic advantages of using the blockchain. Can the world of art remove additional benefits from the use of distributed registry technologies?
Besides those already described above, I would like to note the opportunity for artists to receive royalty from the secondary sales of their work. The blockchain allows you to program smart contracts in such a way that the work cannot be transmitted from one owner to another, without payment to the author (usually 10-20% of the owner’s profits).
This royaltysighting is a mandatory standard in many industries, including cinema, music and design, but, unfortunately, were not previously adopted in art. Perhaps thanks to this change, more young people will choose the path of the artist without fear, live all his life in poverty or in line for grants.
What technologies, in addition to the blockchain, have now the greatest impact on the world of art?
Technology that continues to have a huge impact on the world — this is the Internet as a whole and social networks in particular. Unfortunately, for digital artists, this influence is ambiguous: on the one hand, it is almost the only opportunity to quickly get fame and distribution, on the other, the work published in the overall access is losing value, not allowing artists to earn sales. We hope that the blockchain will be able to change this situation.
Will there be all digital works in the future to oust traditional forms (material)?
Now the size of the digital art market is very small — no more than one percent of the traditional. There is no doubt that this share will rapidly grow — a new generation of people has grown, which prefers the experience of experience to any other. I do not think that material art will ever disappear, but maybe with the time it will become the same niche hobby, which cigar steel after the invention of cigarettes.
